WHICH GRADE OF CWT-Y-BUGAIL WELSH SLATE DO YOU NEED?
Cwt-y-Bugail Welsh Slate roofing is available in three thickness grades: Capital, County, and Celtic. The thickness of the three specific grades is to suite the range of different roofing project requirements. The quality of the stone will allow production of roofing slates in excess of 1 metre in length, but the majority of the production is focused on the core production sizes (500 x 300 mm, 400 x 250 mm and 300 x 200 mm) in three thickness grades; Capital (5.5 mm), County (7 mm), and Celtic (9mm). Each grade of slate has a subtly differing character, but all have the intrinsic quality that makes Cwt-y-Bugail Slate the envy of the slate world. -
Pitched RoofingMarley Clay Club feature tile
Marley feature tiles should only be used with roof pitches of 70° and below, bands of feature tiles should be confined to a maximum of four courses. These bands must then be separated by a minimum of four courses of standard Plain Tiles. These measures are designed to reduce the risk of water ingress and wind uplift caused by the reduced tile head-lap inherent with these tiles. Ridges, hips, valleys and verges are the most vulnerable points of any roof and therefore careful detailing in respect of feature tiles should be considered. It is advised that Feature bands of tiling should be avoided directly adjacent to Bonnet/Arris hips, valley tiles or verges. Feature tiles should terminate against a standard Plain Tile at least two tile widths away from detailing/fitting. To assist in maintaining a broken bond pattern Feature tiles are available in both standard tile and tile-and-a-half formats.
