    Vent3 Classic – Breathable Membrane

Vent3 Classic is a triple layer fabric, high performance breather membrane, made from high tensile spun bonded polypropylene layers, around a micro‐porous polypropylene film. Designed for use in a fully supported or unsupported tiled, slated or metal roof system. The high vapour permeability and waterproof nature of the membrane, combined with excellent tensile/tear strength and high wind uplift resistance make Vent3 Classic the professional’s choice as the ultimate breather membrane. It is equally suitable whether draped unsupported over rafters or laid directly over insulation. The outer layer forms the functional waterproof surface, the middle layer is the breathable waterproof membrane, and the inner layer protects the membrane from abrasion and damage, also giving additional strength. This enables the fabric to allow moisture vapour to pass through, whilst remaining fully waterproof. The upper surface is Grey, printed with the trade name and head lap lines. Available in 1.0m and 1.5m widths as standard to conform easily to any typical roof configuration or the individual working practices of the installer.

    Cwt-y-Bugail Welsh Slate Roofing

WHICH GRADE OF CWT-Y-BUGAIL WELSH SLATE DO YOU NEED?

Cwt-y-Bugail Welsh Slate roofing is available in three thickness grades: Capital, County, and Celtic. The thickness of the three specific grades is to suite the range of different roofing project requirements. The quality of the stone will allow production of roofing slates in excess of 1 metre in length, but the majority of the production is focused on the core production sizes (500 x 300 mm, 400 x 250 mm and 300 x 200 mm) in three thickness grades; Capital (5.5 mm), County (7 mm), and Celtic (9mm). Each grade of slate has a subtly differing character, but all have the intrinsic quality that makes Cwt-y-Bugail Slate the envy of the slate world.

Cwt-y-Bugail produces a beautiful dark blue-grey with occasional white veins and unique riven texture.  Located east of Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, it has been producing slates from 1840, and was formed by the Ordovician slate beds laid down over 470 million years ago. The Cwt-y-Bugail slate has a distinctive banding known as relic bedding and gives an extremely uniform unfading appearance on the roof. Although without the immense capacity of its sister quarry at Penrhyn it is still able to produce large volumes of roofing slate.

Cwt-y-Bugail Welsh Slate comes in three thickness grades to suite your projects specific roofing needs.

    Cedral Fibre Cement Slate

Cedral slates are made of fibre cement. This composite material is composed of ingredients that are readily available in nature and that are low in toxicity. The main components are cement (made from limestone and clay rock), sand, air and water – mixed with fibres for extra strength. Thanks to the clever combination of air (30% of fibre-cement slates) and fibres, fibre cement slates are lighter and stronger than natural slates or roof tiles. They have an excellent wind and weather resistance, withstanding storms with ease. Thanks to their porous structure, they can also absorb up to a third of their weight in humidity, effectively combating condensation in your roof structure. This makes them the ideal roofing material, both for renovations and new constructions. Also important: fibre cement slates also have an excellent fire performance classification of A2-s1, d0. With Cedral slates you add safety and peace of mind to your home.

Many people think of roof tiles as a robust solution for a roof. Tiles are a common roof covering, but they are not as durable as specially engineered fibre cement slates. Cedral slates – if placed properly – have a life expectancy of more than 50 year. This guarantees that you can enjoy a quality roof for years to come.

Moreover, Cedral offers you a manufacturer’s warranty on its fibre cement slates. You won’t easily find any similar warranty for other roofing solutions. That’s because fibre-cement really stands out because of its lightweight strength.
